By far the most populous of all the nations in the System, the People’s Republic Confederation encompasses the former nations of China, Russia, Korea and the Philippines. It is technically a Communist nation, but is the most repressive of governments that currently exist. Religion of any sort is tolerated, yet discouraged. Officially the government is Atheist, and those publicly displaying religious beliefs are ridiculed and seen as foolish. The PRC sees Uploaded as people who have ascended to a higher plane of consciousness, but do not see AI or Neo-Sentient as more than property or pets.  The PRC has extradition treaties with the APL and the ITA, and will often do prisoner exchanges with any government. The PRC has a lock on the terraformed Mars and is the System’s leading importer of water, coming from Earth, Mars and Europa.
