The original Followers of the Orb originate from the descendants of the mining crew that discovered the Orb buried underneath Luna’s surface over 40 years ago. It only took about ten years for the cult to grow into a fairly major power, because even though their numbers are small, their psionic powers gave them a serious edge over almost everyone. Fortunately most Orbers (as they are called) are both pacifists and see their calling as a gift. Very few Orbers live anywhere but on Exodus II, a massive station in the orbit of Neptune around the Orb. It is here, their religion states, that they await their calling to depart the System altogether.

Some stray Orbers have been lured back into the mundane world, and are often found as bodyguards or spies.  An Orbers powers assure that they excel at both of these professions.

Still others try to evangelize and bring more people to the realization that the aliens that built the Orb want the selected of humanity to go to Exodus II to await the Departure.

Orbers have no true government aside from the precepts of their religion, which they do not share with outsiders
