The small population of this moon are almost all ITA military personnel. The ITA’s space fleet is built and deployed from here. Other nations have nicknamed Deimos “Tank Rock” because of how well defended it is, and the mutual defense treaty between Deimos, Phobos and Mars goes a long way towards preventing an attack. The combined might of three of the System’s superpowers is something none has yet dared to risk.

It is rumored secret projects are conducted here, but no one outside of high ranking ITA personnel may know that for sure.
